The Upper Tana Natural Resource Management Project (UTaNRMP) focuses on empowering communities in the Kirinyaga, Muranga, Tharaka, Embu, Meru, Nyeri regions of Kenya to manage their natural resources sustainably. Through components such as Community Empowerment, Sustainable Rural Livelihoods, and Sustainable Water Management, UTaNRMP aims to improve livelihoods while conserving the environment. The project has received recognition for its efforts, including the IFAD Gender Award for the East and Southern Africa region in 2021. With a focus on building resilience and fostering partnerships, UTaNRMP is making a positive impact on the region.
