A director identification number (director ID) is a unique identifier given to a director. It’s free to apply and you will only need to apply once. Once you have your director ID, you can view or update your details. To apply or reapply for an Australian business number (ABN), visit the Australian Business Register (ABR) website. If you’re starting a business and not sure which registrations you need, visit the Business Registration Service (BRS) website.
