The Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters, located on the domain acws.ca, is dedicated to creating a world free from violence. ACWS provides support to 40 members who operate over 50 shelters province-wide for women, children, and seniors, working towards bringing an end to gender-based violence. Become an advocate to end violence against women, access resources and training for frontline workers, and learn about the various ways to support their important work. Domestic violence shelters such as Stepping Stones Crisis Society in Cold Lake, WIN House in Edmonton, and Jessie’s House in Morinville are available to help those in need. ACWS also offers events, resources, news, and donation opportunities. Find a shelter, get help, learn about identifying domestic violence, safety and planning, and know that you are not alone in your journey. ACWS is committed to leading change through their programs and initiatives, including resources for men and boys, the Lift Her Up campaign, and the upcoming Summit 2023.
